Cintron Starts Training At Historic Ali Camp by: Jeff Julian on
June 20, 2004 Welterweight contender Kermit 'The Killer' Cintron
started his training camp on June 14th at the site of Muhammad
Ali's former training camp at Deer Lake, Pennsylvania. For the
first time in 23 years, a ring takes center stage in the same
rustic gym that saw 'The Greatest' work his magic. Once again,
the walls echo with the sounds of leather meeting leather and
trainers shouting instructions. Cintron becomes the first ...

It's a fairly accepted 'fact' among college age women that they
will gain weight their first year away from home. It's so well
accepted, in fact, that nearly anyone will know immediately what
you mean when you refer to the 'Freshman 15'.
However, the research doesn't quite agree. One study conducted
15 years ago found that incoming freshman did gain weight at
higher rates than their peers who did not attend college, but
the average weight gain for the stressful ...

Most sports come with injuries to accompany them. Although
swimming is, by most standards, not a sport associated with high
risk of injury, it does have it's own problems. By far the
biggest source of sidelining swimming injuries is the shoulder.
I was a competitive swimmer for 14 years, sometimes doing double
workouts and 15,000 meters per day. I swam mostly freestyle and
backstroke. I never had a shoulder problem until my college
years. I had been training with pull buoy and paddles ...

The math is pretty simple. One pound of fat equals 3500
calories. Want to lose a pound a week? Then you need to consume
3500 calories less per week than you use. That's about 500
calories a day. By cutting out 500 calories a day from your
normal daily diet, while keeping your activity level the same,
you can lose approximately one pound a week.
All right - that doesn't sound like much, especially if you're
more than 25 pounds overweight. Study after study has shown,
though, that those people ...

Gyms seem to be relatively safe places, we frequent them often
and walk out the front doors without any complaints other then
the normal soreness brought on by a hard workout.
But unfortunately for some of us we actually do not make it out
of the gym uninjured, usually the injuries are nothing serious
but can still really kill our workouts. Now the most common gym
injuries are not serious but they still keep us from what we
love. Here is a brief description of the most common injuries
and ...

One of the fastest growing sports around is indoor rowing.
Whether its for competitive reasons or fitness reasons or both,
the advantages of indoor rowing are clear. You are indoors. You
probably haven't had to travel more than a few yards from one
room of your house to another. It's convenient, location wise
and you can make it fit your lifestyle. It is a simple thing to
schedule an impromptu 30-minute session on your rowing machine.
The alternatives to home indoor rowing are obviously ...

Exercise is easier than ever. Fitness can be fun, summer or
winter. Here are 20 easy and fun ways to start.
1. Take a walk. On a warm summer evening, take a walk with
someone you love. Walking slowly, or briskly, can help burn
calories from a big dinner.
2. Get up earlier than everyone else. Do some aerobic exercise
by yourself. Use a workout video or walk the dog.
3. If you have a pool, play basketball or volleyball in the
pool. Try kicking, it tones your butt.
4. Garden. Digging in the dirt ...

Although creatine offers an array of benefits, most people think
of it simply as a supplement that bodybuilders and other
athletes use to gain strength and muscle mass. Nothing could be
further from the truth.
A substantial body of research has found that creatine may have
a wide variety of uses. In fact, creatine is being studied as a
supplement that may help with diseases affecting the
neuromuscular system, such as muscular dystrophy (MD).
Recent studies ...
